about the lessons
At Buick’s Music, we like to personalise music lessons to the individual student, so they can achieve their own goals in their instruments.
For beginners, we tend to stick to a slight structure of lessons by working through The Beginners Starter Lesson Pack (created by Mikey himself), which has been designed to teach all the basic information. Allowing the student to be able to jam along to all their favourite songs in no time!
We will always have the student’s creative ideas at the heart of what we do. After learning some basics, we will start personalising lessons, for example, if your child would like to learn some Minecraft songs, we can teach that! We will always do our best to deliver lessons that the student wants.

- We recommend weekly lessons to ensure practice in-between lessons and to minimise information forgotten between each lesson. However, fortnightly lessons are also available!
after school 1-1 instrument lessons
These lessons are the most popular type of lessons, which are simply 1-1 instruments lessons that take place Monday to Friday 3:30 pm – 7pm. This will take place in the Buick’s Music Studio, Lawford (Manningtree).

music workshops
Music workshops are perfect for someone who doesn’t know what instrument to start learning or just simply enjoys playing around with music. We have built up a lovely community of SEN students and would love to welcome more.
Lessons can range from learning all instruments, playing along or dancing to any music of their choice and recording projects, depending on the needs and interests of the student.
for complete beginners
We understand buying your child or yourself your first instrument, music books or other equipment can be overwhelming when starting off, but we are here to help. We can advise and help you decide on an instrument best suited for the student such as the size, style etc. – without breaking the bank.
grades
We believe even though grades are great, it does not nor should define you as a great musician. Grades are a great way to see your progression, however, at Buick’s Music, we leave that choice up to you, as music should be fun and stress-free
We feel that every student is different and has different aspirations when it comes to learning music. Grades will not be pushed onto your students. However, if this is something you may be interested in, we can tailor our lessons to learning and understanding instrumental grades.
