We specialise in one-to-one drum lessons.
Our sessions are available to everyone, of all ages and abilities. We always have the student’s creative ideas at the heart of what we do and that’s what drives us forward.
After learning some basics, we will start to personalise the lessons to your child.
We love when they choose the songs they want to learn. We’ve had everything from Minecraft, Mario Kart to the latest pop song.
what is the hardest part of drumming?
Keeping in time, but with lots of practice you’ll get there.
If you or your child is self-taught, one of the hardest things is knowing what to learn next.
are the drums beginner friendly?
Yes. We had a 7 year old, who in their first ever drum lesson came away having learnt 2 full songs. They were ‘We will rock you’ and ‘Believer’ by Imagine Dragons.
is it hard to learn drums by yourself?
It can be yes. For beginners, it’s hard to know if you’re in time.
We’ve learnt along the way that kids don’t like to count. That’s a fact! Mikey, the Buick’s Music drum tutor, says it’s best to have a drum teacher helping them stay on the beat.
It can be overwhelming not knowing where to start too, but at Buick’s music, we can help build up the lessons uniquely to the student’s ability.
how long does it take to learn the drum?
It’s never ending. There’s always a new song that comes out that you or your child may want to learn. That could take a couple of hours or weeks to master.
It’s a lifelong skill that can be built on over a lifetime.
